WOMAN

As a retaliation to the “Gay Plague” press around AIDS, I decided to put together a show based on a disease that only attacked macho men and changed them into women.  It was a musical and played several English venues, the Edinburgh Festival and the Duplex here in New York.

Woman was a one man show that I commissioned for the Edinburgh Festival.  Brightside was one of the shows I did whilst with Lumiere and Son Theatre Company.

BRIGHTSIDE was a story of a dancer who is being betrayed by here team.  It is told using each character as a climate or season and her alter ego, who finally shows her the truth.  But it is too late.

I played her manager/lover and kind of Diagalevian character named Charles who represented cold and ice.

Charles is the evil behind the deception.  Type casting again.

I did several projects with Lumiere & Son experimental theatre company.  Now defunked through an “oversight” of the Arts Council of Great Britain, they were one of the more established experimental theatre companies.  Their work was an exploration of using music, movement and speech to tell a story on multi-levels.
